It's... alive?

I think I may yet live....

Still feeling a bit under the weather (translation: Like something the cat refused to drag in, but at least better than I was), but finally managed to get up the oomph to deliver the comments I owed people. Sorry it took so long, but I didn't even really wanna get out of bed for too long at a time, and about the most I could do in the way of thinking was a few one-liner type comments here and there.

At least being totally hammered by icky illness gave me plenty of time to play through some of the huge amount of good DS games that have come out in the last 3 weeks. Seriously, dude, I think I more than doubled my collection of games in less than a month, after the DS has been out for... how long now? Finished Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Trauma Center: Under the Knife, as well as Lost in Blue, although on the second I wasn't up to the extremely more challenging operations that open up in "challenge mode" after you finish the actual storyline, and in the latter I never really "finished" the third mode that unlocks after you beat the game in the first two modes (but then again it doesn't seem to have any real specific "end" anyhow). I'll probably do reviews here before too very long, but just not in this entry.

In other news, I got my order of Imps from Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs that I'd put in at the end of August. I received Cairo, Cordelia, Lust, Hunger, Vice, and Seraglio, plus they threw in Greed for free. It'll be odd for me to try these all out and judge them, since I haven't worn perfume for *ages*... mostly because really I couldn't find any type I liked in the normal outlets. So I have to get used to this again.

I did try out Cordelia so far though, and even with this cold I have enough sense of smell left to say that it seemed the most low-key in the bottle, and remained fairly so after I put it on. It went on somewhat musky, though "light," shifted a bit toward what I'd describe as "woody" fairly soon, and eventually settled into a blend of those and a more floral overtone. Overall I'd say I like it - not sure if I'd like it enough to order it again on its own, but I do like it. Especially since it's not... overpowering. I'll have to try more later on, when the first application has worn off a bit more (and maybe when my nose is a bit more... up to snuff. Heh.)

Anyhow, I think that's enough of an update for now... I should either get a bit more work done, or maybe go rest a bit more. Depending on what I'm up to. Actually... I think maybe food is the next order of business. Yes, foood....

How was Phoenix Wright? It sounds interesting, I might want to try it.

It was good, the only real problems I can think of offhand and in short are a) it seems to swing fairly wildly between presenting stuff that even a 5-year-old would be hard-pressed to miss as totally obscure and shocking when you point it out, and really obscure stuff, not so much to understand, but to really think of and realize that that is what they're looking for at that particular point in time. And b) it looks like it won't really have replay value - once you've solved it, and seen the story, it's not like going back and playing through again will change anything.

If that whole jumble of sentences made sense.

Lengthwise it's not a huge game, probably, though a lot longer than I expected upon reading that there were only 5 episodes involved (and after seeing that the first one lasted a whole 30 minutes or so). I'd say there's a good 15 hours of gameplay or so. But like I said, once that's over...

These days I generally prefer 15 hour games over 50 hour games, considering how little time I have to play (and how repetitive the big RPGs have started to feel to me). If it's something different and short, it might be worth checking out.

Well, I'd say it's different and (relatively) short, and worth trying out. I'll try to do a longer review of the stuff soonish, though.
