Shiiiny...

Now have Civ V in my cold grabby hands... or rather, in my disc drive, installed on my computer.

See y'all in... a couple weeks?

(Well, except that Final Fantasy XIV is also coming out Any Day Now, so I'll also be seeing those people... >_> )

Plus they have the manual only in digital format, which I guess is good because it saves trees and all, but I like being able to take the manual and curl up with it while I peruse some of the changes and all! Not being forced to sit and read it on the computer, when I'd rather be just playing the game while I'm here, anyhow!

With how big the one from 4 was, they probably would have to split it into multiple volumes >.>

If we can choose, then certainly, if that's where the Shirt Ninjas are!

Anything else I should know before it gets here?

Looks like you should still have access to shirtninjas.com, we have a new section for 14.

I'm hearing that the ClickandBuy service SE is using for credit card payment is kinda shady, so a better option might be using PayPal through the UltimatePay to buy Crysta. (yeah that sounds just as confusing to me)

Anyway, you can go ahead and set that up now, along with the bonus code from 13 if you got it. (You'll need a SquareEnix account if you don't have one yet.) The way I see it, the less things you need to register when it's live, the better, with how hammered the account servers will be.

Civ 5 sounds cool, but I decided to wait until it's cheap. I've still only played a couple games of Civ 4, so if I get the urge for some Civilization I'll just play that one.

Same here, and it makes me sad to admit it. I don't even think I've played it since I bought a 24" monitor last fall -- even though, as I bought it, I remember thinking, "ooh, screen real estate for Civ!"

It's just hard to find the time for a full game of Civ. When Civ 4 came out I bought it and I think I played 1 game. Then last year when they had it on sale with all the expansions on Steam, I got it and played a few more. So I figure when I do find time I'll get just as much enjoyment from playing Civ 4, and I'll be playing Civ 5 a few years down the line.

Of course, if they ever make a sequel to Alpha Centauri, I'll be getting that one right away.

I've been all stoked that Civ5 was coming out, heard great previews and reviews. And now that I have it all nice and downloaded, ready to play when I got home from work...and now I have mandatory overtime for the rest of the month. :(

Sometimes, being a programmer just sucks. ;_;

FFXIV CE goes live in NA tomorrow. FFXIV regular edition goes live 10/1, I believe.

Eep, thanks for the heads-up, I should have realized that the CE would be earlier. I went ahead and caved and ordered that, and should be getting it tomorrow. Which gives me today to play around with Civ V before my gaming attention is divided...

I'm so envious! I have the game already but i haven't even ordered the new computer yet! I really ought to do that today.

And i'm pissed that Steam has a separate download link for the manual but _not_ for the soundtrack! They won't let me have my soundtrack unless i clear away enough space on this computer so i can install the entire game! :(
