Parasha: Understanding Comics - September 17th reading

I like show and tell! Show and tell is fun!

Anyhow, while I agree that we've shifted to a society where "grown-up books" have no pictures, and even many children's books ditto (see: Harry Potter, except now that I think about it those had the chapter images, but that's it), I wonder when and why this happened. I mean, a lot of the classics were illustrated at least somewhat, like the Alice books by Carroll, which had some quite well-known images associated with them. Or of course Sherlock Holmes in the Strand.

Then again now that I think about it, Alice was for children and Holmes was catering to the masses at the time so... maybe it's not all that different after all. Hrm.

Anyhow, here is where he seems to be putting together the stuff from previous chapters in some ways, with further amplification on themes, but there's not all that much new to talk about. At least, I'd think so. Think not. Whatever.

Don't let me stop you if you have something to discuss, though! By any means. :p

Next week: Chapter seven! Just in case you can't tell that chapter seven follows after chapter six, I guess?
