Well, Chapter 8 is certainly... short at least. So much for Vengeance. And nicely cliffhangery, except that since Chapter 9 comes right away, not.
A very very... odd and disturbing dream sequence from Evey. Wearing the same getup as she used on the priest, and what with her tangling up Gordon and her father, a) one assumes that she saw the former as a father figure as much as (or more than) a lover, and b) one wonders if her father molested her, because that seems to be the implication. And also, she seems to be frightened of V, despite how she always acts toward him. Of course, if she's also tangling V up with her father, and her father molested her...
Man, no wonder she's got issues.
As for the rest of the reading... it's hard to find something to say about it, because... damn. The prison, the torture, and as a backdrop, the story of Valerie's life... and that last inch, that Evey is finding within herself as well.
