Yeah Jon, I think you really need to get over that little absentmindedness thing.

Not really all that much to say this time, since it's mostly talk, and flashbacks.

I am with Laurie though in that the whole "surprise" thing for Jon seems stupid, since he KNOWS everything. Which also implies of course that you can't trust ANY emotion he supposedly feels, like love or anything, since it could just be him following the script, so to speak.

I also think the whole thing that gets him to change his mind is a bit... well, twee really. I mean yes, there are lots of small miracles in life, but for someone in Jon's position to change his mind based on something so small? I don't really buy it.

Also, geez, is it a wonder a lot of people turned down Metropolis' initial proposal? How very... dry-sounding he makes the whole masked team thing sound!

So wait, from the idea I'm getting from one of those letters, Sally was basically a beard for Hooded Justice? Or am I confused? (And from reading the interview on the next page, I'm guessing I'm not confused.) I always thought that his reaction to her near-rape was pretty cold for even a distance Significant Other... I guess that explains it.

It also means that Laurie's guess at the end of the comic portion is even more likely to be right (not that I really doubted it), since she definitely wasn't the Hooded Justice's kid.

Re: The dreaded feminist analysis. OF DOOM.
You've read more superhero comics than I have, I'm pretty sure. Does Watchmen feel more meta in this regard? Laurie's lack of control over her own life is *so* explicit in this that I am hoping it's exaggerated in order to bring attention to it.
