Controversy Meme

Well if flemco can do it...

No, seriously, he does memes so rarely that it draws your attention when he does, and after my attention was grabbed, I found it interesting enough to do myself. Despite it apparently being an old meme. It's new to me!

1.Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?
Well, duh?

2.Would you do meth if it was legal?
No. I don't smoke and barely *drink* at all, and those have been legal for me for years. (Hell, I think smoking has always been legal for me, since I don't think they put in an age limit until after I was old enough? Or close to it?)

3.Abortion: for or against it?
Neither, since that is worded horribly. I'm totally for the legality of abortion, however.

4. Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
What the hell kinda stupid question is that? Of course not.

5. Do you believe in the death penalty?
I'm actually mostly with flemco on this one - in theory, yes, I think that some people are scum and totally deserve to be put down like the rabid dogs they are. On the other hand, our justice system is so flawed and fucked up that until we can be sure of getting the right guy, and all the facts, the death penalty is a Bad Idea. It's already bad enough trying to go back after someone's been in prison 30 years and saying "oops, new evidence techniques have shown that We Fucked Up! Here's your life back, sorry about those missing decades!"

6. Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Yes. I seriously doubt this would ever affect me directly (see #2), but it's stupid and hypocritical to keep marijuana illegal, even for some people that would medically seriously benefit from it, while legalizing cigarettes and alcohol.

7. Are you for or against premarital sex?
Gee, guess. Or in case you haven't read me enough... Gimme the sex, already!

8. Do you believe in God?
The "normal" Christian God, as stated in the Bible, yadda yadda? No. Some sort of divine being or at least force? That... depends. I often think there's *something* on the "spiritual" side of things, but I don't know if I'd say flat out that there's a god, or God. And how strongly I believe or disbelieve depends on my mood at the time, really.

9. Do you think same-sex marriage should be legalized?
Given that I have a working brain - yes.

10. Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
Illegally, yes. Then again, I don't think they should *have* to move in illegally. Since when did we become an Exclusive Club with closed membership?

11. A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
I don't think there's *any* way to just answer this across the board with the same answer for every case. I'd lean toward "yes" at first blush, but that could and would seriously change with actual circumstances. I'd think that, at the very least, she and her family should be *allowed* to keep it.

12. Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
Yes. I see no reason why the age of 21 is some magic number for that, when so much of the rest of adult responsibilities and so on are taken on at 18.

13. Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Yes, although I'm not good enough with politics and military matters to just stand here and say "withdraw right this second without any plan"... but I do think we should withdraw. Damn quick.

14. Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?
Not... really. I find suicide to be a waste in general, and for young teens just having problems obviously it's a bad choice - but for someone who's older and/or dying, in pain, and being a financial burden on their inheritors? Who's slowly losing what ever little dignity they have left by inches as they're kept alive against their will? Gah. My main problem though with making it legal is that it would make it easier to bully someone into death who doesn't really want to die, or even to take advantage of the system and kill them outright and make it seem like they wanted to die. Although with enough documentation involved, the latter shouldn't be as much of a problem. One place where a bit of red tape might be handy.

15. Do you believe in spanking your children?
Yes - to a degree. I think spanking is a totally valid form of punishing a child, but going nuts and beating the child because (mostly) you're pissed off is going too far. But spanking, yes, I'm all for that. More often than is done, usually. I didn't like it as a child, but it also kept me from doing some Really Stupid Shit once I learned my lesson.

16. Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Oh hell yes. I like the country and all but... hell yes.

17. Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?
Well, like I said, it's an old meme. But Obama, thankfully. If you didn't already know that.

18. Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?
Oh, I'm totally shaking in my shoes. Actually while I don't want to have screaming disagreements with my friends, online, offline, or both, a bit of interesting discussion stemming from this sorta stuff is always welcome. Just as long as they don't start by listing off why I'm Wrong and a Horrible Human Being for answering the way I did... which I don't see as a problem from my friends list, anyhow.

7. Actually, it's not a topic I associate with your posting much at all, but I guess it's possible I'm not on the right filter.

Heh, I don't have any filters. I guess I was just figuring that with my general pervertedness in comments, and so forth, I wouldn't exactly be seen as conservative in that regard.

Obviously, more and sluttier posts are required.

Hah! And do I have to guess where you'd stand on that question? :P

Naturally; I oppose no consensual between 2 or more participants.

Oh ho! So you're against masturbation then, eh?

Of course not. But there's no need to ask yourself for consent. :)

I believe I could never disagree with that sentiment!
