Kitty name!

Alright alright, y'all are probably tired of hearing about kitty, but just in case he does stay, he's gonna need a name at some point, and I figure everyone loves a poll! Now, I don't at all promise to go with the popular opinion on this, but I'd at least like to see what other thoughts are. ;)

So keeping in mind that this is a small white male kitty with generally yellow eyes, what's a good name for him? Since I already have Katana, my first thought was Wakizashi, but when I even mentioned it to my father in passing, I got A Look. Am I weird? (Wait, don't answer that...)

Since he's skinny and white, I was thinking Skeleton or Skellington, but that might be a bit... eerie. And probably wouldn't fit as well when he gets bigger. There's always something generally plain and simple like "Ghost," or I was considering "Papoose" because he reminded me of one when I had to wrap him all up in a towel to get him into the house in the first place (he kept panicking when he got carried nearer the traffic and stuff... that's how I got clawed).

Then there's the fact that we have a white dog named Lady already, so I was thinking of "Lord" or "Baron" or something to play off that. Or since his eyes are mostly yellowish, I could always go with the book thing, and name him Perrin. Although I'm really leaning away from that because I wasn't much fond of Perrin even BEFORE Faile came into the picture to make him totally whipped.

Then of course there's my father's suggestion, "Snowball." I hope it was mostly in jest, although it was hard to tell. To which I responded that if we did decide to get him neutered, we could just change it to "No-Ball." I think I surprised him a bit. :p But I'll include that, Just Because.

Feel free to elucidate in comments, please. ;) (And yes, I still like Wakizashi :p )

I'd pretty much have to be a Star Trek geek for that, which I'm not. ;)

Oooo! Well, Sesshomaru isn't that small, and I'll probably get weird looks for THAT too but... it's definitely a possibility.

I seem to recall you banning any of your friends from using "Knives" as a name for children. We definitely should've used that for one of the cats.

I just want you to know that it's your fault I've had Warren Zevon stuck in my head for the past several hours.

(And I think he's getting bored in there. He's such an excitable boy.)

It's tough to say -- Columbus is the home of several insurance companies and banks, and also things like The Limited (incl. Victoria's Secret) and other companies everyone knows. I've heard some people say that it has some of the largest data centers around. Columbus is a good place for computer people, because there are tons of programming jobs.

Of course, the answer really depends on what the exchange rate between US$ and double-dollars is. =)

I am the one lamer that posted a vote for 'lord/baron,' because every goddamn cat knows they are anyway.

Since we just wandered into your garage, why not "Rover?"

According to my daughter, all cats are named Gösta.

Does that translate to English?

Not really, except it's a familiar form of Gustav/Gustaf.

I like Skellington, but not Skeleton.

If you do go the Snowball route, you need to have a number after the name.

What is this a reference to? It's tickling the back of my mind, but I can't remember...

Snowball II, The Simpsons. I assumed that was where you got the name to begin with.

Nah, it was my father's (only half-serious, I hope) suggestion. And the cat isn't going to be named that anyhow. *shudder*

I'm surprised you didn't go for Galadedrid, if you're going to pick from WoT. Not too far off, considering he's all white (like a Whitecloak) and fearless.

I may have to put kitteh pics up now. Although my buddy Midnight might just eat your cat. And your dog. Not kidding, he's almost 20 lbs of big and hungry. He's almost comparable in size to a smallish beagle, and larger than most Jack Russell terriers. Must be the Siamese blood...

Hrm, aren't Siamese usually kinda smallish? o_O

Hmm, after doing some Google, apparently it looks like the "cat fanciers" Siamese breeds are scrawny things. But every Siamese I've ever seen in my life has been huge beasts, you could almost believe that they were used as ferocious guard animals in the holiest (and wealthiest) Buddhist temples of the Kingdom of Sukhothai...
